Hallmarking

Every piece I make carries my full attention, and where it’s required, it also carries an official hallmark from the Birmingham Assay Office. A hallmark is an independent stamp that confirms the metal has been tested and verified. It’s your assurance that what you’re wearing is exactly what I say it is.

Why is it important?

I like the idea that something so small can carry so much weight (literally and otherwise). Hallmarking means:

  • Your piece has been independently tested for metal purity
  • It meets UK legal standards for precious metals
  • You’ve got an extra layer of trust built into something handmade

Not every piece needs hallmarking due to legal weight limits, but anything that does is sent to the Birmingham Assay Office to be officially stamped before it makes its way to you.
