Frequently asked questions:
What is the return policy?
Penny & Salt offer a 30-day returns period on eligible items from the date you receive your order.
If you change your mind, simply email contact@pennyandsalt.com with your name, order number and the item you’d like to return. Please contact me before sending anything back so I can provide the correct return instructions.
For change-of-mind returns, the item must be returned in accordance with our returns policy, and return postage is your responsibility. Items made specifically to your measurements, personalised or made to your specifications are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
If your item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact me and I'll arrange the appropriate return at no cost to you.
For full details, please see our Refund Policy.
How long does my order take?
Ready-to-ship pieces are usually dispatched within 3–5 working days. Made-to-order pieces take around 2–4 weeks to make and dispatch, as each piece is handcrafted specifically for you.
Do you offer commissions?
Yes! If you have a specific idea in mind, or you’ve seen a piece from Penny & Salt that you’d like recreated with your own twist, I’m happy to discuss a commission.
Each commission is made especially for you, so the price and timeframe will depend on the design, materials and level of detail. Get in touch at contact@pennyandsalt.com with your ideas and we can take it from there.
Why does my jewellery look different?
Because it’s handmade! Small differences in texture, shape and finish are part of what makes each piece unique. I’m not aiming for factory-perfect... I want the jewellery to feel considered, tactile and genuinely made by hand.
Why does sterling silver tarnish?
It’s completely normal! Sterling silver naturally reacts with the air and can develop a darker or warmer tone over time. It’s part of owning silver, but regular polishing and keeping your jewellery dry and stored away when you’re not wearing it will help slow the process.
